#SERIAL EXPERIMENTS LAIN OPENING GUITAR COVER SERIAL#

For those you who doesn’t know, this song is the opening sequence for the anime series entitled Serial Experiments Lain. (So if I keep my eyes closed, with the blind hope)įor my first ever song review, I have decided take on Duvet by the British band Bôa. (So if I let go of control now, I can be strong) Though I would like to point out that they can further intensify the emotions drawn in the song if they put in a strings section or an orchestra if they really have the budget.Īnyway, I would like to point out that there are 2 lines hidden between the last choruses. Overall, I think that the song was arranged pretty well. I think they specifically put that chorale segment before the last choruses to signify that the protagonist has finally overcome the problem that she was facing. That part itself feels very empowering to the ears of the listeners. A good example of that is in the bridge part where Hayley is accompanied by a chorale. The elements used in the song complements the song well. Last Hope uses a slightly different song structure compared to your typical pop song different but not uncommon. It comes to a point where everything just seems hopeless and she tries to run away and just pray that everything will fix itself on its own.īut even though the hardship and the pain is still there lingering inside her as those lines suggest, it seems a self-realization occurs within her and she decides to be strong and push through as long as there’s hope, no matter how small. In the eyes of the main protagonist of this song, it seems that she is facing some struggles as of that moment. Last Hope is a song about hope, as the title suggests. Unlike most of their songs, this one has a positive message to it.

If you have a fair knowledge or Paramore’s songs, you might notice that most of their songs are about hating on something. It’s different from what Paramore, or Hayley for that matter writes about. Last Hope is the 8 th track in the album and the reason that I decided to highlight this song out of all the other songs because of its overall message. Anyway, I wanted to highlight and review some tracks before I write the album review and I decided to write something about Last Hope. I planning to listen to it immediately but I was kind of busy and I only got the chance to listen to it last night. So about a week ago, I bought Paramore’s latest self-titled album. From left to right Hayley Williams (vocals), Jeremy Davis (bass), Taylor York (guitars)
